Stock Car Racing for Stock Car Enthusiasts

Stock car racing is a form of auto racing which is practised mainly in the US, Canada, New Zealand and the UK. It is termed “stock car” due to the modifications that have been made to its original factory configuration. It was first brought to the UK in 1954, where the cars are mostly stock cars from the 1930s with locked rear axle differentials and added armour.

The world’s largest governing body for stock car racing is the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. The top level races are 320-1000 km in length, while the average speeds in top classes are normally inside 70-80% of comparable levels of open wheel racing at the same tracks.
