Freight Forwarding
Freight forwarding is a type of transportation service in the international or multi-national import and export. A freight forwarder, or simply forwarder, is a third-party logistics provider that serves as an intermediary between the client and transportation service providers. The forwarder, a non-asset based entity, dispatches freight through asset-based carriers, as well as books or arranges space for freight.

Freight Forwarding
International forwarders have the ability to prepare and process documents, as well as perform related tasks for international shipments. In the United States, international forwarders must be licensed by the Federal Maritime Commission as an Ocean Transportation Intermediary, or be accredited by the International Air Transport Association as a cargo agent. In the United Kingdom, forwarders are not licensed but obtain membership from the British International Freight Association. In Australia, forwarding is often performed by licensed Customs Clearance Agents or Customs Brokers.
